DHL Strategic Parts Center gains TAPA “Class A” certification

First SPC in Asia Pacific to receive top ranking certificate from TAPA

DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, announced today that its Strategic Parts Center (SPC) in Hsinchu has received a “Class A” certification from the Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA). This is the first TAPA certification awarded to a DHL SPC in Asia Pacific, and DHL is also the first international express service provider in Taiwan to receive this recognition for a SPC.

A SPC functions as a warehouse and in the competitive high-tech electronic market, this facility would reduce stocking and increase distribution frequency. With its extensive global network infrastructure, DHL is able to deliver the strategic parts safely and reliably to any country in the shortest amount of time, enabling its customers to focus on their core businesses and leave the rest to DHL.

Connie Tang, General Manager of DHL Express Taiwan, said, “The certification of DHL’s SPC in Hsinchu not only demonstrates DHL’s commitment in providing safe service to our customers, but also clearly sets us apart from our competitors in providing a better logistics service.”

In meeting TAPA’s highest standards, the SPC in Hsinchu is equipped with eight 24/7 security booths, and its entrances are installed with identification control and temperature sensors linked to alarm systems. Sixteen remote-controlled cameras are installed to monitor all packages moving in and out of the facility. In addition, all staff undergo a TAPA safety training course to ensure and maintain the highest safety levels.

Ms Tang added, “DHL’s continuous strategic investments in security will ensure that our customers’ shipments are safely and securely transported from pick-up through delivery to their final destinations. Most of DHL’s SPC customers are in the high-tech industry. Due to the high value of the parts and short life-cycle of the products, strict security management, speedy and secure delivery service is an important requirement of our customers.”

In addition to this recent certification, DHL had obtained a TAPA “Class A” certification for its Gateway at Chiang Kai-shek International Airport, and seven certifications for its service centers in Taiwan.
