DHL to provide industry-leading Customs declaration service
New service covers major science parks and export processing zones in Taiwan
DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company, today announced its expanded service which enables companies at science parks and export processing zones in Taiwan to process customs declarations on bonded goods at DHL’s Taipei Gateway located at Chiang Kai-shek International Airport.
This 24-hour service not only provides customers with more flexibility in the Customs declaration process, but also cuts down on related costs. It creates a more flexible time for import and export processes, and helps customers shorten delivery lifecycles, resulting in a boost to revenues. DHL will also provide a later cut-off time for exporting shipments.
DHL started the service of processing customs declarations on bonded goods at the DHL Taipei Gateway last September, and received positive feedback from DHL customers; therefore, DHL is expanding its range of service which will cover five other areas on top of the existing Hsinchu science park, including central and southern science parks, Taichung city, Nantz and Kaohsiung export processing zones. DHL not only made the declaration process easier, but also extended, by an average of two hours, the cut-off time for exporting shipments.
“Science parks and export processing zones customers can now conduct Customs declarations at the DHL Taipei Gateway, meaning that shipments can be processed and uploaded on the same day. Customers can also save costs on the warehousing of bonded goods and bonded trucking fees during the Customs declaration process. With the 24-hour Customs declaration service, DHL is happy to do our part to facilitate trade for companies in Taiwan,” said Connie Tang, Country Manager of DHL Express Taiwan.
