The fourth DHL Thesis Awards open for applications
Awards encourage pursuit of innovation in logistics and supply chain management
DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, and the Chinese Management Association have entered their fourth year of joint sponsorship of the‘DHL Thesis Awards in Supply Chain Management’.
The awards pay tribute to innovation in logistics, as well as advocate and encourage research on supply chain management. The‘DHL Thesis Awards in Supply Chain Management’is open to applications until the end of June 2006, and all applicants must submit their applications online.
Since the inauguration of the awards in 2003, support and interest from students across university campuses in Taiwan have steadily grown. As it gains recognition among scholars of supply chain management, so has its popularity with EMBA students in relevant fields. DHL expects a record number of applications this year.
DHL Express Taiwan General Manager Connie Tang said, “The awards have raised the bar of Taiwan’s research on supply chain management. Previous award winners have received accolades from their peers in academia, underscoring the thesis awards’growing status as a benchmark award in the field of supply chain management.”
Award-winning theses in past years delved deep into a range of topics, spanning a wide array of industries like garment manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, home furnishing retailing and car dispatch services. This year, the sponsors have equally high hopes for outstanding theses on innovation in logistics.
S.Y. Sun from the National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, an advising professor of an award winner of the second annual “DHL Thesis Awards in Supply Chain Management”, noted that the ‘DHL Thesis Awards in Supply Chain Management’have become a benchmark among academics. Scholars of this discipline consider the awards the pinnacle of recognition, and they appreciate DHL’s efforts in promoting research on supply chain management.
The fourth‘DHL Thesis Awards in Supply Chain Management’is eligible to masters, EMBA, and doctorate students who graduated in 2004 or 2005.
